In the early 1980s, Terry Randolph saw a need to plant a Fundamental, Independent, Baptist Church in the Northeast valley of Phoenix. His vision became sight in November of 1982, when Cornerstone Baptist Church was organized having 18 charter families. At this time the church was leasing property which was owned by the city of Phoenix. Shortly thereafter, new road construction would have the church relocate. The church purchased 1 1/2 acres of land with a small home on Phelps Road.

Having approximately $30,000, the small congregation began building their first auditorium in November of 1984. With the skilled labor of church members doing much of the work, and all of the funding coming from the members, the new auditorium was completed in less than two years and dedicated on October 12, 1986. In 1989, a new office building was added to this property. The existing home, which had been used as a parsonage, was renovated and became Sunday School classes and nurseries. Eventually, an additional modular building was added for more Sunday School classrooms.

It has been said that a growing church is always in transition. God has richly blessed the work here at Cornerstone. Within a few short years the congregation outgrew their auditorium. For nearly four years, the church held two morning worship services to accommodate the growth. The congregation raised money to purchase 1½ acres of property across the street from the main facilities. A new auditorium was constructed on that property, seating 500, and was dedicated on December 15, 1996.

Because of the need for more Sunday School space, offices, and nurseries, a new piece of property adjacent to the new auditorium was purchased from the city of Phoenix with 1¼ acres. In the summer of 2010, the new Fellowship Hall was completed. This multi-purpose building contains two nurseries, a commercial kitchen, and a multi-purpose room. Currently these facilities are used for our Addiction Recovery Program every Friday, Sunday School classes, nurseries, Vacation Bible School, and other fellowships scheduled month to month. We thank the Lord for the members of our church who gave abundantly of their time and resources so that His church can continue to point souls to Christ

Today, Cornerstone Baptist Church is a well-established ministry with land and facilities valued at more than $3,000,000. Currently, our church supports 108 missionaries from a general membership of 350. Because of the missions-mindset and emphasis on church planting, Cornerstone's influence has reached beyond just Arizona to become a church with global impact and influence for the cause of Christ. In November of 2012, Cornerstone will celebrate its 30th anniversary. To God be the Glory. Great things He hath done!

Ephesians 3:20,21

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above

all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh

in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus

throughout all ages, world without end, Amen."
