God's Free Gift To You - The ABCs

Do you remember your first years in school? One of the first things I remember is learning my ABC's. It was the beginning of a long process of learning to read and write. God has made a way for you and I to attain salvation so that when our life is over here on the earth we can have eternal life with God in heaven.  The only way for you and I to attain salvation is through God's Plan.  He has made a way for us to be saved and it's as easy as ABC!

Firstly, we must ACCEPT what the bible says about our sin nature.

As we begin reading the bible we see God has created everything, including man, but by the time we get just a few chapters into the bible, man has disobeyed God. The very first man, Adam sinned and we have all inherited that sin nature. God sums it up in Rms 5:12. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"

Have you accepted the fact that you are a sinner? Do you agree with the bible that you are a sinner.  The book of Romans declares that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God".  The bible continues to say that "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life."

You may have landed on Cornerstone's website today and happen to be reading these words, but you're not learning anything new.  You already knew you are a sinner and you want to move along, you have been searching and seeking to satisfy the longing heart. Stay with me for just a while, pray and ask God to show you how to handle the sin problem which has separated you from God all your life.

We must not only ACCEPT what God says about our sinful state, but we must BELIEVE what the bible says about solving the problem. Again, the book of Romans tells us that we must believe that Jesus Christ is God, and that he rose from the dead to prove he is God, and that salvation is only made possible because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Do you believe that he loved you so much that he suffered and died on the cross for you? The bible says, "'that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Lastly we must CONFESS that we want to trust Christ to save us. Simply call upon him right now to forgive your sin, and from this day forward  to give you the power to turn from sin (repentance) and to save your soul for all eternity. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Did you call upon the name of Jesus Christ to save your soul today?  You need to tell someone what you did.  Tell us!  We'd love to hear from you, and send you some literature which allow you to grow in your new life in  Jesus Christ.
